A Little About My Philosophy

I like things to make sense. I am naturally drawn to creating balance, whether it’s in the meal I’m preparing (I hate it when the food is all one color), the outfit I am wearing, or how I live my life, I want to have a balanced approach.

Of course, life is incredibly messy and unpredictable. The only valid and proven way I know to live an effective, balanced life is to live it as the bible tells me and as the Holy Spirit leads when the bible isn’t crystal clear. But even with God on my side, life is pretty crazy sometimes, especially with kids. Sometimes “balance” is an inner thing and not an external fact (i.e.: the mountain of laundry, family drama, etc).

Since I’m a mom, I tend to write about my parenting and family experiences. Having children has been a perpetual lesson about life and how God wants me to live it. Blogging is one of the ways I keep myself accountable.

My blog is about searching for that God-inspired equilibrium everyday and in every moment. Whether it’s through raising kids or during the humdrum moments of life, God has something to tell you if you’re looking for it.

    Hey girl,
Good for you! I think this is a great idea, and I like what you’ve written so far. For people raising kids right now, your comments will be very refreshing–it’s not everyone who even admits to a lot of what you mention. So many people want to appear as though everything about raising kids is fabulous. That’s probably why so many moms are overly stressed! I’m glad you’re writing so honestly.

    • Thanks, Vicki! I really hope people benefit from this honesty and feel like it’s okay to face the negatives and realize it doesn’t negate the whole thing as wonderful. I think being realistic about parenting makes our good efforts more genuine and inspiring.

Transparency is so important and can be so encouraging to others! I love hearing what is on your heart…some times it makes me cry and other times you have my cracking up!! You are using your God-given gift to touch others and I think it’s fantastic!!! You go girl!!

    • Thanks Carrie! I was actually just thinking today that I hope to remain transparent and honest because I don’t want to just make stuff up that I think will get people’s attention. I want to reach more people everyday, but not for the sake of numbers. I want my faults and goofy stories to help encourage others to know that with God’s help, they can forgive themselves, start over and see the good in every situation.
